Fox Valley Flying ClubSeptember, 2008 Newsletter |
Yeah, I haven't gotten an issue out since the end of last April, four months ago. That's because, despite all the interesting flying that has happened, and despite all of the promises made to me, except for Evan Wright nobody has sent a single article to me to publish. This Newsletter ain't gonna write itself, and I'm not going to put it together single-handed, so without your contributions you'll get nothing to read.
You are all lucky that Evan is single-handedly attempting to keep the fire burning. In the last month and a half, he sent not one, not two but THREE stories -- complete with pictures. The first is about his experience being a fighter pilot for a day. The second is about his recent flight in the EAA Ford Trimotor. And the third is about the Labor Day flight that several of you took to Grand Geneva. This last item should be a lesson to all of you: If Evan, busy flier and father of young children, can quickly knock out an article about a nice day's flying, SO CAN THE REST OF YOU!
I've added some brief few words about Oshkosh and the Chicago Air and Water Show to the virtual alphabet soup. Enjoy!
How about it,
guys and gals? If you fly, consider sending me an email about it, maybe
with some pictures. If I don't take the trip myself (and even then, if I
don't feel like writing about it), and no one sends me any stories, there won't
be anything to share. So, if you enjoy reading Newsletters, send to me
(via email to gilomen@ais.net) any and all
stories about flying that you have done, flying that you wanted to do and flying
that made you wish you had stayed on the ground, as well as any amusing
anecdotes, grumpy gripes, scary stories and wanted/for sale/for trade ads.
Let's get to it, people!
