Minutes of May 7, 2009 meeting
President Roger Kellogg called meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Reports:
Secretary Report: was read and accepted.
Treasury Report: Current account balance $3,066.97. Treasure Report was accepted.
Education & Training:
Barry Ward brought up that Evan Wright has an IFR Simulator and both he and Christine have tried it out.
Media:
Kevin B. had nothing to report.
Website/Newsletter:
Brian G. suggested that anyone should send in flying stories and photos so they can be posted.
Clow Report:
Nothing current to report.
Cushing Report:
Nothing current to report.
Existing Business:
Tent: Bob B. Reported we have a tent for Oshkosh! The cost will be $200.00 for the week.
Vance L. brought in a tent for the club to consider as an additional tent for use at Oshkosh and other club
events such as picnics. The cost of the tent is $89.00 + Tax. Motion was brought to purchase said tent, 1 no
vote from Kevin B. the eyes have it. The tent will be purchased for the club.
Oshkosh:
Brian G. will do the flight plan and preflight briefing.
Food is still currently individual foraging- no one has volunteered to shop and bring up food and cooking
supplies.
Ted Tvurdik offered to take some ground items.
2009 Christmas Party:
The place for the party will be once again at Walter Payton’s Round House. The date for the party is
Saturday December 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Monthly Club Meetings:
Catering Options were brought up again.
A theme meeting for fun was brought up again.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday July 2nd at Clow.
Brian G. and Kevin B. have volunteered to do the meal planning and preparations.
Barry Ward volunteered his hanger to hold the meeting.
Presentation:
Bob Beckstrom gave a presentation on his Flight to Bike week in Daytona Florida. Other club members
that flew down to Florida with Bob were Jim Wolak; Vance L. and Rich Wild. On the flight back Barry
Ward and Brian Giloman joined Bob.
Project Updates:
Tom H. Kit fox – Cowling rework to fit engine jugs.
Phil B. Rans S6 – Most of the fabric is complete.
Steve V. Kit fox – Still working on it.
Roger K. RV 7A – Working on Tail feathers.
New Business:
For Sale: Brad Wolf’s GT 4000 at a price of $9,500.00.
Flying Reports:
Hartenbower: Fly in breakfast
The field was extremely wet!
Pilots who ventured to the breakfast were: Don Leonard; Mick and Jude P. and Brian Giloman.
Lewis: Pancake Breakfast-
Pilots who went were: Ricky Anderson and Don Leonard
Janesville: Air show- with the Blue Angels.
Pilots who went were: Bob Beckstom
Mount Morris: Breakfast
Pilots who went were: Don Leonard; Steve V. and Larry G.
For the good of the club:
Don Leonard reported that he had an experience at the Hartenbower field. Due to it being extremely wet his
plane got stuck in the mud do to it sitting on the grass.
Dave Wallis reported that someone at Cushing Field hit a large puddle and as a result of that had a nose down
which caused a prop strike.
Up Coming Events:
Saturday June 6 & 7 is the 10th Annual Cavalcade of Planes at Clow Airport.
Harenbower fly in breakfast is Sunday June 7th
FVW Picnic is Saturday June 20th at Cushing Field.
Genesio fly in is Sunday June 21st.
4th Annual Pig Roast (sorry I did not get the place and dates on this one).
Trike Fest is July 24, 25 and 26th at Cushing Field.
Oshkosh is July 27th thru August 2nd
