Minutes of June 11, 2011 meeting
Meeting was hosted by Kent and Sharon Catich at
their air ranch in Aurora
Six members flew in, four Quicksilvers, Joe, Don, Steve and Bob R, one Mini-max
Phil, one 1946 Piper cub Bob B
Meeting was called to order by Roger at 6:08pm
Roger welcomed all attendees, reviewed the mission statement and meeting agenda
Minutes from the May meeting were read
Treasurer reported $ 2,356.00 Balance with 40 paid members
Education/Training – Nothing reported
Web site – Up to date including Cavalcade of aircraft pictures
CLOW REPORT
Cavalcade was a big success with aprox. 15,000 attendees over the weekend
6 FVFC members volunteered at Cavalcade. Vance, Barry and Brian drove the
shuttle busses
Christine took aerial photos from a helicopter and got five minutes “stick time”
Midwest Helicopters did demonstrations with the Sikorski S58T including water
drops using a fire bucket and a Parachute drop
The B2B bomber did a low fly by.
CUSHING REPORT
Still no gas. Bud is working on a solution but no ETA for gas
Joliet has gas at a fair price but there is no card reader so you have to go
when they are open
EMERGING BUSINESS
Xmas Party is 12/10/11 at Bolingbrook Golf Club. Need a volunteer to plan
activities
Next Meeting 7/7/11 will be at Charlie’s with a guest speaker
Aug Meeting 8/4/11 will be in a hanger at Clow
Oshkosh is just six weeks away. Roger will go up early and stake out the camp
site

Roger K. (RV7A) Panel is coming together
Tom H. (Kitfox) At Cushing and should be ready for inspection in a couple weeks
Pilot Reports and Good of the club - Discussion cut short due to
deteriorating weather
