Officers On Deck!

Based on material provided by Rickey Anderson

As you all know, we recently suckered voted in new Club Officers for the 2007 flying season.  New Club President Ricky Anderson quickly got on the stick and -- in True "Binder Man Brad Wolf" fashion -- he whipped his team into shape.

Commander Anderson hosted an Officer Transition Meeting in mid-January, and had detailed discussions regarding both the officer positions and what the focus of the Club should be for 2007.  As a result of that meeting, he created the first Job Descriptions for Club Officers that I have ever seen.  Check this out:

2007 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    PRESIDENT (R. Anderson)

        · Facilitate club monthly meeting
        · Develop, execute, and coordinate NEW Club Mentoring program
        · Coordinate club training & development effort
        · Coordinate club key fly-in participation, e.g. Oshkosh,
Heart of Illinois, Tommy Georges, Grandpa Farm, Mt. Morris, and Lancing.

    Vice President PRESIDENT (G. Reliford)

        · Facilitate club monthly meeting in the absence of the President
        · Coordinate membership drive and collect dues
        · Develop and upkeep the phone list
        · Coordinate the club’s emergency response system
        · Support the president in getting club speakers

    SECRETARY (D. Gathercoal)

        · Take meeting minutes and coordinate with the webmasters to
insure minutes are added to the club’s website
        · Ensure all MAIL ONLY communications as needed
        · Do minute report of key points during the meetings
        · Coordinate development of FVFC History (will contact Rich Wild)

    TREASURER (P. Duff)

        · Collect monies for Club Picnics, Cookouts, and Christmas Party
        · Collect monies from V.P. for club membership
        · Collect monies from Apparel Sellers
        · Track and report on all Club financial matters

Our new team committed, going forward, to deciding on key Club fly-ins, getting the cookout volunteer list filled out, planning for a possible 1st Annual FVFC Pancake breakfast to be held at Cushing, developing a mentoring program, brainstorming intra-club flying competitions and discussing future meeting presenters on subjects such as weather, flight planning, aircraft maintenance, etc.

Several action-items were discussed, including developing a list of and checkout system for Club property, and putting together a list of last two year's solo achievements.
