Air Boss: GUIDELINES
The purpose of this document is to provide AIR BOSS guidelines and assistance in the preparation
of FVFC sponsored Flights to qualify for award points..  
GUIDELINES YOU MUST MEET TO QUALIFY FOR POINTS:
a. Club members must be given at least 1 weeks notice of the Flight
b.  Webmasters must be notified for placement of flight plan and air boss
name at least 2 weeks before the planned flight
c. The planned flight must originate and end at different airports
d.  5 planes minimum must participate in the flight on the planned departure date.  Flights
departing on different departure date will not count. 
e.  Any changes in the initial flight plans must be communicated to the Club members immediately,
e.g. departure time changes, cancellation of flight, etc….
f. The worksheet must be submitted to the Air Boss Program Team within 60 days after the flight.
   g. Air boss should provide a very brief report to the club on the event.
FLIGHT PLAN DEVELOPMENT  - Checklist
(Check the box when completed0
   a. Plan flight with 40-60 miles legs, if possible
(50 miles max. for guys w/ 5 gals and Quicksilver "sport" type planes)
   b. Form performance Groups, if needed, for safe flight on the departure date.  Decide who
  the flight leads will be for each group, e.g 40-50mph group, 51-67mph group, 68-90mph
 group, etc…
   c. Notify airports in flight plan of landing intentions, e.g date, est. landing time and  aircraft count
  d. Get airport service availability,e.g gas and price
  e. Get airport communication frequency
  f. Get airport runway directions
   g. If departure airport is different a airport in the flight plan must be ID'd as the ralley point 
e.g. departures from Clow and Cushing meet at Dacy
   h. If a holding pattern is needed to Approach destination airport ID the location in the flight 
plan , e.g.  Oshkosh normally needs a holding location before final approach.
   i. Monitor weather starting at least one week before planned flight
 
FOR 'j' and 'k' below call 1-800-WX-BRIEF (1-800-99-27433)
   j. Check for TFRs and NOTAMS on day of flight
   k. Check weather on day of flight
