CUSHING REPORT
Look for an article in Sport Pilot Magazine (sometime in the future) by a young
man named Nick who did the Sport Pilots license in 7 days. Nick lived at the
airport and flew with each instructor every chance he got.
Bruce Parduhn passed his checkride and now has his pilot cert. Congrats Bruce
Patrick Cadas, a full CFI and pilot with “shadow traffic” has purchased Hanks
Sport 2S and is now giving instruction in the Quicksilver.
Brad Wolf visited in late May and passed his biennial flight review with no
difficulty. Brad flew with Tom Wartell
5 new ultralights are moving to Cushing. 3 Quicksilvers, 1 Phantom, 1 Mini-Max
All runway lights are repaired and will be on 24/7. East west runway is open but
a little rough at the east end
Speakers
Joe and Don gave a presentation about flying their Quicksilvers to Lake of the
Ozarks. Departed the Friday before Memorial Day and returned the following
Thursday. 7.2 hours flying time down and 9.9 hours back
Had some excitement crossing the Mississippi on the way down. Joe discovered you
can have your nose pointed straight down and still be climbing. Don discovered a
Quicksilver can go inverted.
