A Message from President Rickey
Hello Members,
1st of all, yes I am still alive, and well. This has been a very unique year for
me so far stemming from situations that started late last year. I know my
absence has caused added pressure to the officers, and a certain amount of
uncertainty about my stand and position with the club. I continue to miss the
camaraderie that I have enjoyed for many, many, many, years in the Club. So, I
will answer some of these concerns.
But before I go on, Special thanks go to Greg (VP), Brian, and Roger for keeping
the club moving forward by leading meetings during my extended absence.
Several milestones are very important for the Club to focus on this year. They
are: The Cavalcade of Planes in June @ Clow (I contacted them last month and
they are expecting a definitive answer from us soon), The goal to complete our
Club History by the 08’ Christmas party that Joe Simosky is leading, and of
course a lot of Safe Flying which is the primary goal of the club. Also we need
and must have Volunteers for the summer meetings at Clow and Cushing fields.
Remember, we normally start our hangar meetings in May. I will contact some of
you very soon to discuss the Club’s Progress in these areas.
Spring has showed up here early and my urges to fly are overwhelming me. The
situation here is becoming manageable. That said, your ‘President Neglect’
(thanks Brian :>) ), will be returning. I have been staying in contact with Greg
and others sparingly to help as much as I could from a distance. However, based
on events that I MUST participate in succession during April and early May my
return will be late May. I will then be doing a lot of catch-up to get flying
ASAP. My plane hasn’t been started for 7 months.
Take Care, and Start Preparing for the flying season if you haven’t already.
Rickey
